NetEnt Touch Comes to Android Devices

NetEntWe’ve talked a lot recently about the growth of mobile slots, with more and more companies adding ways for players to enjoy their favorite slot machines on cell phones and tablets. One recent adapter to the mobile revolution is Net Entertainment, which just last year developed the NetEnt Touch platform for iOS devices like the iPhone.

This week, NetEnt announced that NetEnt Touch will now be available for Android phones as well. This is a natural evolution for the platform, as Apple and Android combine for the lion’s share of the mobile market.

“We are committed to making sure that our mobile games remain world leading and the natural next step for us was to launch them on Android devices,” said Net Entertainment CEO Per Eriksson. “Android is narrowing the gap with iOS and we see great growth potential in both operating systems. We take utmost care in ensuring that the top class game play and graphics, for which Net Entertainment games have always been known, are replicated on mobile.”

Of course, the games on NetEnt Touch aren’t always perfect replicas of the original versions of the games. However, the simplification process is about making the interface easier to use, rather than sacrificing any of the graphics or gameplay features present in the games. For instance, keypad navigation is simplified in Touch games in order to ensure that games remain intuitive on the smaller screens and devices used in mobile gaming.

While not every single game in the NetEnt lineup is available on mobile devices, several of NetEnt’s most popular slot machines are available through the Touch platform. Here are a couple of our favorite machines that you can now play on your smartphone:

Gonzo’s Quest Touch

Gonzo’s Quest was one of the first huge hits developed by Net Entertainment, and it remains one of their most popular games today. The game follows the adventures of Gonzalo “Gonzo” Pizzaro as he attempts to find El Dorado, the lost city of gold. The game is particularly notable for its use of 3D animations and the cascading “avalanche” feature that gives players the chance to win again and again on each spin, with bigger multipliers applying to each win every time a new combination of symbols falls into place. The Touch version of Gonzo’s Quest has all the same features as the original, with the addition of slick new navigational tools that make it easier to play on a phone.

Jack Hammer Touch

Jack Hammer is the prototypical comic book private eye, a man who solves crimes and fights criminals. This is one of the most stylistic games offered by NetEnt, as every symbol on the reels has the look and feel of a classic comic book, right down to the distinctive style of illustration. But the machine’s popularly isn’t just about its artistic merits: Jack Hammer is also a lot of fun to play. The biggest wins come from the Sticky Win feature, in which winning symbols stay in place while all other positions respin, allowing even more winning combinations to potentially appear on screen.
